Julau is in the Sarikei District and 66 km away from Sarikei town. Starting our journey from Sibu seemed like it was over a hundred km but then of course, it wasn't a pleasant and easy journey since none of us had been to Julau before and the road leading to the longhouse was under construction. It was therefore a long and bumpy ride all the way and there were times when we had to stop to ask for directions from friendly and helpful locals. Thanks goodness, we had a map to guide us too and we would make our way to a longhouse yet where we would put up a night in the house of Mau Wei's friend. On the map too, there was a note reminding us that we should bring along a sarong and slippers since we would be going to have a swim in the river. I suspect that must be Mujok River where we were be going, a place said to be suitable for Safari activities. I had bought myself a sarong in Sibu and so, River Mujok, here I come... and if you don't know what a sarong is, it is a loose garment made of a long strip of cloth wrapped around the body that is worn by men and women of the Malay Archipelago and the Pacific islands...
