Seeing Orange at Red Fort

Our tuk-tuk stopped outside a big red complex, (orange, I would say) where there were vendors selling souvenirs and postcards. We were visiting the most important fort in India , the Lal Qila otherwise known as Fort Rouge or Red Fort of Agra. Beside containing the largest state treasury and mint. the great Mughals Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb used to live and governed from here. Originally a brick fort, and held by the Chauhan Rajputs, the fort went through many hands. Akbar's grandson, Shah Jahan, gave the site its current look. When the Mughals captured the fort, it came along with a vast treasure, among which was a diamond that was later named the Kohinoor diamond.
The Agra fort was a diamond in its own right!
