Take Five! A Lung to Breathe
Years back when I was visiting Damascus in Syria, someone told me it was the oldest city in the world. Perhaps, I have heard it wrong. A list of the ten oldest city in the world which I found in the Net does not include Damascus or any other city in Syria; even as it is stated somewhere that Syrian archeologists have unearthed ruins of the oldest city in the world,Homoukar which dates as far back as 6,000 years. Damascus has however been touted the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. Now, I don't know how true that is but as all cities in the world, I did find Damascus a bit congested. Cities do really need lungs, even a small one like the Botanical Gardens in Penang (inset). For more of the garden, do visit Beautiful World!
